The Goal
Riftbound is a duel: two players, and the first to 8 points wins. You get points by fighting over battlefields.
- Your Legend sits beside the board all game. It's never in your deck, and it decides your deck's two Domains (colours). Most Legends have an ability you can use every game.
- Your Chosen Champion is one champion unit that matches your Legend. It starts in the Champion Zone beside your Legend, so you can always play it, even if you never draw it.
- Your base is your safe zone. New units usually arrive here.
- Battlefields are where points come from. In a duel there are two, one chosen by each player.
You score a battlefield in one of two ways. Conquer: take control of it, usually by moving units there and winning the fight. Hold: you still control it at the start of your turn. Each battlefield can score you a point only once per turn.
Battlefield A is empty. You move a unit there and nobody stops you. How does A score you a point?
You never draw your Legend or your Chosen Champion. How can you still play the champion?
- A Legend: Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox. It sits beside the board and sets your Domains.

- A Champion unit: Ahri, Inquisitive. One Ahri could be your Chosen Champion.

- A battlefield: Bandle Tree. Each one has a small rule of its own.

How a drill works: drag a unit from your base onto a battlefield, then press Confirm. Moving to a battlefield starts a Showdown: each player may act, and when you both pass (say you are done), the move happens. A unit is Ready when it is upright and can move; moving it turns it sideways, or exhausted, and it can't move again until it is readied. Might is a unit's strength; the bigger Might wins a fight. Try it: you're one point away. Take an empty battlefield and win.
